Serv Al Trix

Born in the Midwest of America, Serv grew up in a small town. The community he knew was a small blip in the world that not many knew about, but it helped him grow into someone always looking to learn more and explore the world.  During the week he helped take care of his family, and as he grew older he started to explore the city. He’d take the family car, old and rusted, into the capital to meet new people, try new things, and escape into the wider world.

On these trips into the city, he met a girl. Serv and the girl developed feelings and every weekend Serv would visit the city, he would try to find her. The girl was a mystery that kept his interest, never telling him her full name and speaking with a vaguely European accent. He knew her simply as Rose. The two became close and ended up spending the night together, only for Serv’s car to break down in his small town in the following week. His parents couldn’t afford to fix it, so Serv did what he could with little money and little knowledge. Weeks passed and by the time he made it back to the city, Rose had seemingly disappeared. This would be the last time he saw her and would be such a blow to Serv that it killed his desire to return to the city. He would only do so once he left for University, taking care of his sisters in the meantime.

Serv did well once he was in university. He kept himself away from others as he mourned the disappearance of his first partner, but as he found himself with new people that enjoyment slowly came back. He graduated and picked up a job in the city, having a place of his own and a stable office job. The years went by and he continued with his moderate success. As time went on, he found himself no longer content with the same work he had been doing and sought to use that desire to explore once again. He did his research, took his savings, and left – bound for Europe.

Serv looked, applied, and even begged for a job in his new destination – Germany. He knew the language from the families in his old town, but simply couldn’t find anyone willing to take such a shakey foreigner on word alone. Serv lamented his situation in one of the bars as he realized he was burning through his savings and still had no way to support himself in the country. Until he began to speak with the others in the bar – a group of soldiers. Serv talked with them all evening, hearing the stories and speaking about travel, that it stuck with him. A few more weeks went by and with no other options standing out to him, Serv sought out enlistment and was accepted.

The military and his time within it profoundly impacted him. A blue haired fox that he met within the first few months turned out to be his daughter- Rose’s daughter. The two lived most of their lives, never knowing that the other had existed. As they spoke, he finally learned her last name, “Rebane,” and ultimately her fate. She had died in an accident, leaving Jesse alone.

Serv tried to redeem himself through caring for the stranger of his daughter, but it was clear that she suffered from the lack of support. Loud, brash, and prone to less-than-legal actions led her to being punished often. He felt the pride as she became an NCO, as he did shortly after her, but was overwhelmed with guilt when he was notified that she was discharged for multiple reasons. He couldn’t be there for her before and he had failed to be there for her in the present. Serv has lost contact with her since she had departed from the military.

His career was the only success he found in Germany. He grew to be a basic trainer and led the precessions of new soldiers through the ranks as their example. One face that stood out to him, a young woman with pink and blue hair, one he remembered from his time away – out of the country. A caring face and warm smile greeted him as he remembered the young Czech girl, as she had followed him into the service. The two recollection their night that they had met in her own country and quickly grew close once again. As Serv became an Officer and Tereza became a sergeant in her career. Serv proposed to her, which she accepted and became his bride. Their life continued happily as they moved in with each other and the two worked in tandem at the Kaserne. A training set to work with the tolerance of an experimental chemical was set to be led by Serv and another officer. Tereza’s name was drawn for the random participants and during the experiment, she found herself profoundly affected by the gas. His wife, now plagued with nightmares, anxiety, and paranoia left the military as well a few short months later. Serv still cares for Tereza when he is home, but is met again with guilt for having damaged someone close to him.

As he cares for his wife, he began looking into handling treatment and other cases to help with her condition. As his duties as an officer compounded into more of his time being for that, he chose to shift his position – applying to transition to the medical corps to continue his service and his studies to hopefully help with his wife. He carries with him a mountain of guilt and regret that he uses to push himself to try and make things right. His career is his only success, so he carries on with the one thing he knows he can do right.
